Your Questions About Couples Counseling

George asks…

Is the roman catholic church offering premarital counseling to LG BT couples.?

If you have any knowledge of other denominations offer if any would be helpful.

MarriageCounseling answers:

NO – seems the only church that is openly supporting that is the hypocritical leadership of the Southern Baptist Convention. The church is trying to engage in political correctness and will be held accountable.

Laura asks…

Can couples counseling save my relationship?

My boyfriend and I have been dating for almost 2 1/2 years. We have lived together for a year now. About a year ago my boyfriend told me if no longer loves me. It has been very hard living with someone who doesn’t love me. We took a week and a half no communicating break and he informed me that he did not miss me. Maybe the break wasn’t long enough, who knows?
So our relationship seems like a different story. My boyfriend is still very affectionate, does little things for me, includes me in his life, communicates, and treats me wonderfully. These actions make it hard for me to understand how he couldn’t love me. We both have similar interests and values. I am a pretty laid back person.. Always listening, supporting, and fair. We have disagreements but we are not the type of people to have huge fights. Our relationship is positive a lot. He says he thinks it’s him so I thought maybe couples counseling may help. He says he is willing to do that. I am wondering if the counseling may work for this situation we are in. Can it help him fall back in love with me or at least realize he does love me? I have always thought he did love me but he thinks he doesn’t. I believe it is because we are at the point of being comfortable with each other. No, there is not someone else in his life. Please serious answers because this is very hard for me..

MarriageCounseling answers:

With regard to your subject question, no one can answer that for you. No one knows if it will work. You also said “He says he thinks it’s him so I thought maybe couples counseling may help. He says he is willing to do that.”…If he is willing, then go ahead and try it.

What is of the greatest significance here, is that he said he does not love you. When a man says that, there should be no misinterpretation. Time to throw in the towel and move on. You are wasting time; he is biding time until a woman he could fall madly in love with comes along.

Richard asks…

Couples counseling, what do you think?

Ok so me and my bf have been together for 2yrs. Were on the verge of breaking up and we dont want to. We want to try everything before it has to come down to that. We talk about marriage, living together and our wedding but he hasnt even taken me to his apt, or formally introduced me to his family. We have different backgrounds, cultures, and religions but that doesnt get in our way. I just feel he doesnt put alot of effort into our relationship like i do. He gives me excuses but im tired and i want to go to couples counseling. Do you think its too soon or its a good idea? (im 21 and hes 28)

MarriageCounseling answers:

You’re being silly. This relationship is not what you want and no matter how much you like the guy he is clearly not the one for you. You need to walk away from the whole thing. You are very young and there are plenty of men out there who will not come with all th drama that this one does.
