My former fiance has a problem with being extremely bossy, about money and how everything should be done perfectly. We were together for 2 years, in that time, he did get better, but it was far from normal…He has issues, for sure and he was in counseling about them. Anyway, I called off our wedding and was set to move out of our house (I have left him before over this), he asked me to stay and try couples counseling together, he said he is committed to changing the situation, to prove it to me, he has finally told his family to butt out of our problems, which was another issue and he’s been going out of his way to do more romantic things and talk through problems calmly…But I am concerned this is temporary and I feel more like we are living like roommates not sure to stay together. Should I give the couples counseling a fair shot or just go? I don’t know, even if he does change, if I can forgive him for the past and what his attitude has put me through. I have learned to put my foot down more firmly and he’s been respecting that a lot more. Even if he really wants to change, I know he really loves me, but I don’t know that he can. I don’t trust it, can counseling help or should I just stick to the plan and move out?
